Lauhanvuori Hill is one of the highest places in Western Finland, with its peak 231 metres above sea level. There is an impressive observation tower at the top. Just over 100 steps up, at the top of the tower, you can see a breathtaking landscape. There are boards with information about the area at the top of the tower.
The previous Lauhanvuori observation tower was destroyed in a fire in 2002, and the current one was built in the same place in 2004. The observation tower is a good place to start a hike on the circular routes, or to start your geobike cycling, and in snowy winters a skiing track passes right next to the car park. There are a few groups of tables in front of the tower, where you can sit down and enjoy a picnic lunch.
The car park has good signs to Lauhanvuori and its surroundings, as well as the Geopark. There is a latrine near the tower. The Lauhanvuori destinations are also destinations of the Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas UNESCO Global Geopark. Learn more:
