The court stones were used in 1500\u2013500 BC. It is believed that the Kirvesm\u00e4ki court stones are an ancient place of worship, used to ensure good hunting and fishing. The concept of \u201cseita\u201d is common to all S\u00e1mi people, and originally it referred to a sacred place of worship and sacrifice.
